Disadvantages of Poured Concrete
More Frequent Maintenance:
With poured in place concrete paving, sealing is undertaken more often because of its propensity to stain. When cracks, spalls and heaving develop, repairs usually involve costly and repetitive section removal and re-pouring.
Permanent Repair Marks:
When a section of concrete is damaged or needs to be cut for utility access, the “patch” rarely matches the original pour in color or texture, leading to a mismatched, utilitarian appearance.
Advantages of Fiamma Stone
Less Frequent Maintenance:
With flamed granite pavers, simple first level care is normally sufficient: ongoing sealing every two to five years depending upon foot traffic volume accompanied by as needed washing and brushing.
Modular Flexibility:
Because granite is installed as individual units (pavers or sets), the system is flexible. If the ground shifts, the joints absorb the movement. If a single stone breaks or a pipe bursts underneath, you can lift the specific stones and replace them without leaving a visible scar.
Our paver format allows for expedient spot repair, paver extraction/reuse and easy access to below grade utilities.
